Welcome to Caffeine Coding!

Welcome to Caffeine Coding, a blog created to share Engineering and startup thoughts, notes, and lessons. As an Entrepreneur and Engineer in the Bay Area, I hope to share my journey with my fellow tech nerds and millennials.

In this blog you can expect me to discuss code, design practices, developer theory, early career growth, people management, startup topics, and more! Because this blog was originally written by a "millennial" for millennials, my writing style will reflect my personal tone and voice, so please don't take this too seriously and all my opinions are my own.

About me!

My name is Kelvin and I consider myself a basic Bay Area millennial. By trade I am an Engineering leader with over 10+ years of full-stack experience. I graduated from UC Irvine with a B.S in Information & Computer Science. As of writing, I've had the opportunity to work at large enterprise tech companies such as Intuit & LinkedIn, I've mentored aspiring engineers at Springboard, consulted at companies such as Coursera, and even built my own startup (until COVID put a pin on those plans).

Like many others in the Silicon Valley, I am on a journey to become a modern day renaissance man of the "internets". As such, you will often find that I am a product visionary with no PMF, a wannabe designer with poor UX skills, and a content creator with only a few subs to his name.

When I'm not doing a bunch of random things, you can find me frequently brewing coffee or pretending like I know how to entrepreneur.

Open Discussion

My goal is to share my experiences, coding practices, and journey with all of you. With that said, there's still a lot I don't know and there's plenty of room for me to learn and grow. Software engineering is a vast, opinionated, standardized, and continuously changing landscape. I may discuss an issue that you don't agree with, write about a topic that may have some errors, or potentially be completely off base with an idea.

So please share your thoughts with me! Whether you shoot me an email or write a comment, I am always eager to listen to your thoughts and I hope we can learn from each other. I am not easily offended, so lets have a healthy discussion!
